The author of this article spent years researching and experimenting the levels of trust between employees and their managers/bosses. While short-term rewards worked, they only worked for a small amount of time. After experimenting with long term benefits to employees, he found it to be more successful and beneficial to the companies. He also found that the employees who worked in a high trust environments were more productive and therefore the companies were more profitable on a long term basis versus the companies that were not.
