The CEO of SteelHouse surprised workers by announcing new three-day weekends once every month. This new benefit is in addition to $2,000 paid holiday expenses. SteelHouse is dedicated to treating workers well, and has an extraordinarily low turnover as a result, losing only five employees out of 250 in the past year. In time, SteelHouse executives hope to move beyond one three-day weekend a month to a normal four-day work week, which studies show improves productivity and worker’s lives.
