Orangetheory, a fitness business owned by Ellen Latham, has been listed number one on the Women President’s Organization’s 50 fastest growing female-owned businesses list. Orangetheory has over 500 studios and over 500 more in development, and over $40 million in annual revenue. As of August 2017 the company gained nearly 100,000 new members since 2016.
Orangetheory’s sixty minute sessions include a variety of types of activity. Unlike other fitness studios, Orangetheory monitors members’ heart rates throughout their classes, awarding exercisers “splat points” based on how many minutes their heart rate was above 84% of maximum.
