After going home in tears and telling her mother and sister what had happened, her sister began posting pictures of the 10 year old with the hashtag “Flexin in her competition”. The tweets gained traction, as they were an inspiration for darker girls around the country. This spiraled into the girl being offered photo shoots and the offer for her own clothing company that revolves around taking pride in darker skin color.
