Exercise and AlzheimersAlzheimer’s is terrifying. It is an adegenerative disease of the brain, occurring mostly in elderly people and characterized by disorientation, memory failure, speech disturbances, and the progressive loss of mental capacity. It is associated with the formation of beta-amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary tangles in the cerebral cortex and loss of neurons. It can make you feel confused, lose your sense of time and wander thinking you are in the past. One of the things which can protect the brain is exercise. This helps because it’s good for the brain in general and protects it from Alzheimer’s.
